HOW IT ALL BEGAN.
Back in the start of 2021, I, Bruno Dedeyne, started my own graphic design agency, named Studio Lam. Studio Lam is an agency that not only focusses on graphic design but als on sustainable custom printing. Having heard about the forest fires in Australia, the global warming and the pandemic, I wanted to do something to help mother earth. With this thought, I started a pop - up brand, named Bearable. In co - operation with a friend, Bearable was launched as sustainable pop - up brand, that sold a unique t - shirt. For each T - shirt sold, a new tree was planted!
With great pride, this project planted over a 1000 new trees! Because the global warming doesn't stop by planting 1000 new trees, I wanted to add new value and make a difference. That's were Oscar's was launched.
OSCAR'S SUSTAINABLE BRAND.
Oscar's, being the name of my bunny during my teenage years, represents sustainability. Sustainability during the whole production process.
Starting from the yarn that was used to make Oscar's products. The yarns are not only vegan approved by PETA, But have the label of GOTS.
The Global Organic Textile Standard, of GOTS, is a label that is awarded to yarn and textiles who are organically and ethical produced.
After being produced, each piece is embroided with great love and care, in a company in the heart of Belgium. By personally sewing in an exclusive Oscar's label, each product is inspected and approved.
Each item Oscar's offers, is created using organic cotton.
Organic cotton is cotton that is produced organic agricultural standards. The production sustains the health of soils, ecosystems and people by using natural processes.
Importantly, organic cotton farming does not use toxic chemicals or GMO's (genetically modified organisms). Instead, it combines tradition, innovation and science to benefit the shared environment and promote a good quality of life for all involved.
